about us
The Sternberger Elementary PTA is 100% run by volunteers. We are proud to be the only designated 2023-2025 National PTA School of Excellence in Guilford County.
The Sternberger Elementary PTA achieves our mission to make every child’s potential a reality by providing all students with opportunities and experiences that the school budget can't cover.
our purpose
Everything we do, all the fundraising, educational enhancements, enrichment programs, appreciation programs and school events, should work towards:
1) Providing fun and enriching experiences for all students that build our Sternberger community.
2) Helping the Teachers and Staff to feel appreciated and valued and to help make sure they have the materials they need.
3) Supporting each other as Parents and Care-Givers to feel connected and involved and to not feel overwhelmed or pressured.
We can accomplish a lot and still have fun, without completely losing our minds!

Nationally:
For more than a 100 years, the Parent Teacher Association (PTA) has provided support, information and resources to families focused on the health and education of children.
As the oldest and largest volunteer child advocacy association in the nation, the PTA reminds our country of its obligations to children and provides parents and families with a powerful voice to speak on behalf of every child while providing the best tools for parents to help their children be successful students.
PTA does not act alone. Working in cooperation with many national education, health, safety, and child advocacy groups and federal agencies, National PTA collaborates on projects that benefit children and that bring valuable resources to its members.
Today’s PTA is a network of millions of families, students, teachers, administrators, and business and community leaders devoted to the educational success of children and the promotion of family engagement in schools.
