Secret Owls an initiative led by the PTA where we assign one willing family to each Sternberger staff member for the school year. By agreeing to be a Secret Owl, you are committing to treat your designated staff member to goodies throughout the year. You will receive your assigned staff member and a copy of their “Favorites Form” in September. Our hope is that they can each expect a surprise once per month.
We are excited to include the school tutors and primary bus drivers, so we need all the help we can get to cover OVER 70 STAFF MEMBERS! If you or anyone you know are interested in signing up to be a Secret Owl, you can do so by clicking on the green button below.
Frequently Asked Questions:
Q: How do I know who my assigned staff member is?
A: You will receive your assigned staff member and their “Favorites Form” by email during the first week of September.
Q: Is there a specific amount of money I need to spend?
A: There really isn’t a specific dollar amount for each treat. Your goodies don’t have to be expensive or elaborate; the goal is to surprise them with something to let them know we appreciate what they do for our children, our families, and our community.
Q: What should I give my assigned staff member?
A: You can refer to their “Favorites Form” if they provided one. Some people like to do seasonal items based on the time of year or holidays. We also share a guide with a few suggestions for each month.
Q: How often should I deliver a gift for my assigned staff member?
A: Our hope is that each staff member receives a surprise each month of the school year (October – May).
Q: How do I get my goodies to my assigned staff member?
A: You can drop them in the front office, and they will make sure the staff member knows they have something to pick up. Plan to deliver your first gift during the month of October.
Q: What happens if I signed up to be a Secret Owl, but I no longer want to or am no longer able to participate?
A: We completely understand that things change, and life can come at us fast. Please reach out to the current Secret Owl Committee Chair and let them know you will not be participating moving forward. That way we can find another family to take over your assigned faculty member and they will not miss out on this program.
Q: What if I still have questions?
A: Please don't hesitate to contact this year’s Secret Owl Committee Chair ('24-' 25 Kim Riley kim.g.riley4@gmail.com)
