about

The Sternberger PTA supports artistic endeavors as a key element in education, as well as exposure to diversity, technology, science, and other important social and educational programs. Through assembly and workshop programs highlighting these aspects of a well-rounded education, students nurture important values including team-building skills, respecting alternative viewpoints, appreciating and being aware of different cultures and traditions, and exploring new ways of learning and relating to the world around them.

The Sternberger arts curriculum is based on the Common Core and NC Essential Standards, and implemented by our arts staff - art teacher Kara Batchelder and music teacher Abigail DeGance

The Sternberger PTA sponsors supplemental arts programming to enhance and complement the school’s arts curriculum. In coordination with the school, the PTA Cultural Arts Committee works to provide all students exposure to varied and exciting age- appropriate educational experiences through carefully selected programing.

why

Cultural arts programs allow alternative methods of delivery for curriculum. This helps support a broad range of learning styles and inspire long-term creativity. There are many benefits to engaging students in the cultural arts at a young age:

how

Sternberger PTA provided cultural arts programs and could not occur without the generous financial support of our PTA members and our school PTA annual fundraiser donations.
